Indian Bank PO (Probationary Officer) and Clerk positions are among the most sought-after banking jobs in India. The minimum qualification for both positions is a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university. Candidates must be Indian citizens, though certain categories of Nepalese, Bhutanese, and Tibetan refugees are also eligible. The age limit for PO is generally 20-30 years, while for Clerk, it is 20-28 years, with age relaxation for reserved categories. The selection process for PO includes a preliminary exam, a mains exam, and an interview or group discussion. For Clerks, the selection is based on preliminary and mains exams, with no interview. Both exams are conducted online, with multiple-choice questions on reasoning, quantitative aptitude, English, and general awareness. The mains exam for PO also includes a descriptive test. For Clerks, proficiency in the local language of the state applied for is mandatory. POs undergo training before joining as Assistant Managers in branches, while Clerks handle customer service and cash transactions. Both roles require good communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
